Values

A Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) will be providing the massage and practices legally abiding by PA State Board laws. We practice ethically and within legal scope, honoring client dignity and maintaining strict HIPAA confidentiality. Each session is a safe, respectful space designed to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and support the body’s natural healing process.

Scope of Services

Calm Breath Wellness provides holistic wellness services designed to support relaxation, stress reduction, physical well-being, and personal growth. Services are intended to complement a healthy lifestyle and are not a substitute for medical diagnosis, treatment, or mental health care.

Current services may include, but are not limited to:

  • Therapeutic massage

  • Reiki energy healing

  • Gentle yoga classes

  • Sound bowl meditation and sound bath experiences

  • Guided meditation

  • Private wellness events and group experiences

  • Corporate and community wellness programs

Services may be offered in person, virtually, or at off-site locations, depending on the type of service provided.

Each service is tailored to the individual or group within the practitioner's scope of practice, training, and licensure. Clients are encouraged to communicate any health concerns, injuries, or changes in their medical history before each appointment so services can be provided safely and appropriately.

 

Calm Breath Wellness reserves the right to modify, add, or discontinue services, pricing, policies, and procedures as the business grows and evolves.

 

Scope of Practice

The services provided by Calm Breath Wellness are intended to promote relaxation, reduce stress, support overall wellness, and encourage balance of the body, mind, and spirit. All services are provided within the practitioner's education, training, certifications, licensure, and applicable state laws and regulations.

Services may include therapeutic massage, Reiki energy healing, yoga instruction, guided meditation, sound bowl meditation, breathwork, and other holistic wellness offerings.

Calm Breath Wellness does not diagnose medical conditions, prescribe medications, perform medical treatment, or replace the care of licensed physicians, mental health professionals, or other healthcare providers. Clients are encouraged to consult their healthcare provider regarding any medical or mental health concerns and to continue any prescribed treatments.

Clients are responsible for providing accurate and complete health information, including medical conditions, injuries, medications, allergies, pregnancy, or any changes in health status that may affect the safety or effectiveness of a service. Services may be modified, postponed, or declined when necessary to ensure client safety or when a requested service falls outside the practitioner's scope of practice.

Referrals to other licensed healthcare professionals may be recommended when a client's needs are beyond the practitioner's qualifications or when additional evaluation or treatment is appropriate.

Calm Breath Wellness is committed to providing services in a safe, ethical, respectful, and professional manner while honoring each client's individual wellness goals.

Client Rights & Responsibilities

Purpose

To foster a safe, respectful, and professional environment by clearly outlining the rights and responsibilities of both clients and the practitioner.

Client Rights

Clients of Calm Breath Wellness have the right to:

  • Be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.

  • Receive services in a safe, clean, and professional environment.

  • Be informed about the nature and purpose of the services being provided.

  • Ask questions and receive clear explanations before or during a session.

  • Participate in decisions regarding their care and wellness goals.

  • Request modifications to a service, including pressure, positioning, temperature, music, or draping, at any time.

  • Decline or discontinue a service at any time.

  • Expect appropriate professional boundaries to be maintained throughout every session.

  • Have their personal and health information kept confidential in accordance with applicable laws and professional standards.

  • Be referred to another qualified healthcare provider when their needs fall outside the practitioner's scope of practice.

 

Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for:

  • Providing complete and accurate health information, including medical conditions, injuries, medications, allergies, pregnancy, and changes in health status.

  • Informing the practitioner of any discomfort, pain, or concerns during a session.

  • Following appointment, cancellation, and payment policies.

  • Arriving on time for scheduled appointments.

  • Maintaining respectful and appropriate behavior toward the practitioner and other clients.

  • Communicating wellness goals and preferences so services can be tailored appropriately.

  • Understanding that wellness services offered by Calm Breath Wellness are intended to support overall well-being and are not a substitute for medical or mental health care.

  • Following any recommendations or self-care instructions provided after a session, as appropriate.

 

Practitioner Commitment

Calm Breath Wellness is committed to providing ethical, client-centered care while honoring each client's comfort, privacy, and individual wellness goals. Services will always be delivered within the practitioner's education, training, licensure, certifications, and scope of practice. Every effort will be made to create a welcoming environment where clients feel heard, respected, and supported throughout their wellness journey.

Client Policies

Scheduling Appointments

Purpose

To provide an organized scheduling process and ensure adequate time is reserved for each client.

 

Policy

Appointments may be scheduled online, by phone, email, or other approved booking methods. Appointments are confirmed upon receipt of a booking confirmation.

Procedure

  1. Clients select an available appointment time.

  2. New clients complete any required intake or consent forms before their first appointment.

  3. Appointment reminders may be sent prior to the scheduled visit.

 

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

Purpose

To respect the time of both clients and the practitioner while maintaining an efficient schedule.

 

Policy

Clients are asked to provide at least 24 hours' notice when canceling or rescheduling an appointment. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.

 

Procedure

  1. Clients may cancel or reschedule online or by contacting Calm Breath Wellness.

  2. Cancellation fees, if applicable, will be charged according to current business policies.

  3. Exceptions may be made for emergencies or unexpected illnesses at the practitioner's discretion.

 

Late Arrival Policy

Purpose

To maintain the schedule for all clients while providing the best possible experience.

 

Policy

Clients arriving late will receive the remaining scheduled appointment time. Sessions will end at the originally scheduled time, and the full-service fee may still apply.

Procedure

  1. The remaining appointment time will be determined upon arrival.

  2. Services may be modified when appropriate.

  3. Sessions cannot be extended into another client's appointment time.

 

No-Show Policy

Purpose

To reduce unused appointment times and ensure fair scheduling for all clients.

 

Policy

Clients who fail to attend a scheduled appointment without notice may be charged the full service fee and may be required to prepay future appointments.

 

Procedure

  1. The appointment will be documented as a no-show.

  2. Applicable fees will be assessed according to current business policies.

  3. Repeat no-shows may result in limited booking privileges.

 

Payment Policy

Purpose

To clearly communicate payment expectations.

Payment is due at the time services are rendered unless other arrangements have been made in advance.

Refund Policy

Services already rendered are non-refundable. Retail products may be eligible for return or exchange according to current business policies.

Illness Policy

Purpose

To protect the health and safety of clients and the practitioner.

 

Policy

Clients experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness, including fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or other communicable conditions, should reschedule their appointment.

Procedure

  1. Clients should notify Calm Breath Wellness as soon as possible.

  2. Appointments will be rescheduled without penalty when illness presents a health risk to others.

  3. Services may be declined if a client arrives exhibiting signs of a contagious illness.

 

Minor Clients

Purpose

To ensure the safety and legal protection of minor clients.

 

Policy

Clients under 18 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian complete all required consent forms. A parent or guardian is required to remain on-site or in the treatment room in accordance with state regulations and the type of service provided.

 

Procedure

  1. Age and guardian information will be verified before the appointment.

  2. Required consent forms must be completed before services begin.

  3. Services will be modified to meet the developmental needs of the minor client.

 

Professional Boundaries

Purpose

To maintain a safe, respectful, and professional therapeutic environment.

 

Policy

Calm Breath Wellness maintains professional boundaries at all times. Inappropriate language, behavior, harassment, or requests for services outside the practitioner's scope of practice will not be tolerated.

 

Procedure

  1. Expectations for professional conduct will be communicated when necessary.

  2. Any inappropriate behavior will result in immediate termination of the session.

  3. Future services may be refused when professional boundaries are violated.

Draping Policy

Purpose

To protect client privacy, comfort, and dignity during massage therapy sessions.

Clients will be appropriately draped at all times during massage sessions. Only the area being actively treated will be uncovered.

Procedure

  1. Clean linens and draping materials will be provided for every client.

  2. Clients may request additional coverage at any time.

Confidentiality

To protect client privacy and maintain trust.

 

Policy

All client information, health history, treatment records, and personal information will be kept confidential except as required by law or with written client authorization.

Emergency Situations

Massage Therapy Policies

Intake Forms

Procedure

  3. Modify the treatment plan when appropriate.

Contraindications

Purpose

To protect client safety and provide massage therapy within accepted professional standards.

 

Policy

Massage therapy will not be performed when absolute contraindications are present. Services may be modified or postponed when relative contraindications exist. Client safety will always take priority over completing a scheduled service.

 

Procedure

  1. Screen for contraindications during the health history review.

Hygiene & Infection Prevention

Purpose

  2. Use freshly laundered linens for each appointment.

Client Comfort

Pressure Preferences

Massage pressure will always be based on the client's preferences, tolerance, health history, and therapeutic goals. The practitioner will encourage ongoing communication regarding pressure throughout the session.

 

Procedure

End of Session Procedures

Purpose

Reiki Services Policies

What Reiki Is

Purpose

To provide clients with a clear understanding of Reiki before receiving a session.

During a Reiki session, the practitioner uses light touch or hands held just above the body with the intention of supporting the body's natural ability to restore balance.

Sound Bath & Sound Bowl Meditation Policies

There is no right or wrong way to experience a sound bath. Some people drift into deep relaxation, some remain fully awake, and others may notice emotions, memories, or simply enjoy a quiet period of rest. Every experience is unique, and all experiences are valid.

 

General Contraindications

Purpose

To promote a safe and comfortable sound healing experience for all participants.

 

Policy

While sound bath sessions are generally considered safe and relaxing for most individuals, certain medical conditions may require modifications or consultation with a healthcare provider before participating. Clients are responsible for informing the practitioner of any health concerns prior to the session.

 

Procedure

  1. Encourage participants to disclose any relevant medical conditions before the session.

  2. Discuss any concerns with the participant prior to beginning.

  3. Modify the session or recommend that the participant consult their healthcare provider when appropriate.

  4. Decline participation if the practitioner believes the session may not be safe.

 

Pregnancy

Purpose

To support the safety and comfort of pregnant participants.

 

Policy

Pregnant participants are welcome to attend sound bath sessions but should consult their healthcare provider if they have questions or concerns regarding participation. Sound levels will be kept at a comfortable volume, and participants are encouraged to position themselves in whatever way feels most supportive.

 

Procedure

  1. Ask pregnant participants to notify the practitioner before the session.

  2. Offer positioning options using bolsters, pillows, blankets, or chairs.

  3. Encourage participants to adjust positions or take breaks as needed.

  4. Avoid placing singing bowls directly on the body during pregnancy.

 

Epilepsy & Neurological Conditions

Purpose

To reduce potential risks for individuals with neurological conditions.

 

Policy

Individuals with epilepsy, seizure disorders, or other neurological conditions should consult their healthcare provider before participating in a sound bath. Participation is at the client's discretion following medical guidance.

 

Procedure

  1. Ask participants to disclose any seizure disorders or neurological conditions.

  2. Discuss any concerns before the session begins.

  3. Recommend medical clearance when appropriate.

  4. Modify or decline participation if safety concerns exist.

 

Hearing Sensitivity

Purpose

To ensure participant comfort and safety during sound bath experiences.

 

Policy

Participants with hearing sensitivities, tinnitus, hearing aids, sound sensitivity, or other auditory concerns should notify the practitioner before the session. Every effort will be made to create a comfortable experience.

 

Procedure

  1. Ask participants about hearing concerns before the session.

  2. Seat participants farther from the instruments when appropriate.

  3. Adjust playing techniques or volume as needed.

  4. Encourage participants to communicate any discomfort during the session.

 

Comfortable Positioning

Purpose

To support relaxation while minimizing physical discomfort.

Participants are encouraged to choose a comfortable position that allows them to relax throughout the session. Lying on the floor, reclining, or seated positions are all acceptable.

 

Procedure

  3. Invite participants to adjust positions quietly whenever needed.

  4. Encourage participants to prioritize comfort over remaining completely still.

 

What to Bring

Participants are encouraged to bring any items that will help them remain comfortable during the session.

 

Procedure

Participants may wish to bring:

  • A yoga mat or padded exercise mat

  • Blanket

  • Pillow or bolster

  • Small cushion

  • Eye pillow or eye mask (optional)

  • Water bottle

  • Comfortable clothing

  • Warm socks or layers for added comfort

 

Participants attending sessions where supplies are provided will be informed in advance of what will be available.

 

Participant Expectations

Purpose

To create a peaceful and respectful environment for everyone attending.

 

Policy

Sound bath sessions are intended to be quiet, relaxing experiences. Participants are encouraged to silence electronic devices, arrive on time, and remain mindful of others throughout the session.

 

Procedure

  1. Arrive 10–15 minutes before the scheduled start time.

  2. Silence or turn off electronic devices.

  3. Enter and exit quietly if necessary.

  4. Respect the shared experience by minimizing conversation during the session.

  5. Allow yourself time to transition back to full awareness before leaving.

 

Practitioner Commitment

To provide a safe, welcoming, and supportive sound healing experience.

 

Policy

Calm Breath Wellness provides sound bath experiences designed to encourage relaxation, mindfulness, and overall well-being. Sessions are conducted in a calm, respectful environment and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. The practitioner will always prioritize participant comfort, safety, and individual needs.

 

Procedure

  1. Create a calm and welcoming environment.

  2. Explain the session before it begins.

  3. Monitor participant comfort throughout the experience.

  4. Respect individual preferences and accommodate reasonable requests whenever possible.
